China-ASEAN and Neighboring Countries Police Academy Presidents Forum / Law Enforcement Capacity Building Round Table Held at YNPC

Sponsored by Ministry of Public Security of China, China-ASEAN and Neighboring Countries Police Academy Presidents Forum/Law Enforcement Capacity Building Round Table Meeting was held in Yunnan Police College from March 28th to April 3rd, 2016. This Forum was approved by Meng Jianzhu, Secretary of Politics and Law Committee of CPC, and Guo Shengkun, Minister of Ministry of Public Security of China. It was a big event of law and security enforcement cooperation between China and ASEAN Countries. Chief Directors of the police training agencies and the presidents of police academies from 10 ASEAN countries, namely Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippine, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Nepal and Brunei, as well as Kong Hong and Maco special administrative regions were invited to the Forum, togther with the Police Liaison officers from these countries and the representatives from police colleges of China. A visit to the SWAT of Kunming Police Department and a field study to Dali were organized by for the participants of the forum.

In order to make full use of the geopolitical advantages of Yunnan province as well as its characteristics of foreign police education and training, the Forum was to realize of the outcome of Security Promotes Development, the Ministerial-level Dialogue on Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation between China and ASEAN, to improve the Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation with ASEAN and neighboring countries through foreign police training, to set up the plans of law enforcement capability building targeting ASEAN and neighboring countries, to consolidate and expand the accomplishment of foreign police education and training, to establish the training bases and windows of our public security organs for ASEAN and neighboring countries, to deepen mutual understandings, promote friendship, and seek win-win.
